The CAMSS KSS is an integrated system of shelters designed to provide a dining facility for 550 to 1100 personnel. The CAMSS KSS was developed in cooperation with U.S. Army Natick Laboratories, U.S. Air Force Services, Air Combat Command, and Holloman AFB. This kitchen system provides a more compact, yet more functional kitchen dining facility with greater usable space. The CAMSS KSS may be ordered in three different ways. The KSS I+F (Initial and Follow-on) is designed to support 1100 personnel. The KSS I+F comes with 4 CAMSS 20EX40 shelters, 4 vestibules, and 2 corridors that connect the four shelters. Alternatively, the I and F sections can be ordered independently. The KSS-I (Initial), which can support 550 personnel, comes with two (2) CAMSS 20EX40 shelters and two (2) vestibules for the entrances. The CAMSS KSS-F (Follow-on) is usually purchased as an add-on kit as it allows support for an additional 550 personnel using two (2) CAMSS 20EX40 shelters, 2 vestibules, and 2 corridors that are meant to connect the KSS-F to the KSS-I.

Cover / End Panels

15 oz/sq yd Mil-Spec 44103D fabric
Boot connectors over entries can be used to connect to other shelters or vestibules
One (1) set of two (2) 18” ECU ports with a cable port per shelter
Total of ten (10) mesh windows with wind resistant blackout covers per shelter
Guy ropes for wind load capability up to 100 MPH
Can connect multiple shelters with vestibule connectors or end to end with integrated connector flap
Built in infrared (IR) blocking
Fabric includes UV inhibitors and is mold and rot resistant
Fire resistant fabric that meets NFPA 701
Cover and ends are radio frequency welded
Each end panel includes mesh attic vent with cover

- Locking flush mount handle
- Secured to the shelter without penetration of the fabric
Two (2) double zipper entries (Per shelter)
- 36” wide x 84” high
- Tie offs to hold door open

Frame

Made from lightweight, high-strength aluminum
Continuous base frame to provide vector proofing
Frame components are interchangeable and color coded to speed assembly
Pre-drilled base frame for easy anchoring
Base frame has connection points to secure cover to frame
Frame is corrosion resistant

Fabric Floor

15 oz/sq yd non-slip Mil-Spec 44103D vinyl fabric
Floor system is secured to the base frame
Removable floor cleaning or replacement without shelter disassembly
Continuous hook and loop perimeter for vector proofing

Liner

Shelter includes an internal liner system that helps to maintain internal working conditions of 40° – 80° F in ambient temperatures of -25° to 125° F when supported by 5-Ton military environmental control units
Air sock runs the length of the shelter and has spot cooling
Air sock can connect with air sock of end to end connected shelter
